Take this simple test:

Participation in LPOA as a board member, block captain, or committee member is:

1. An imposition, requiring several hours of my precious time each month.
2. A satisfying way to contribute to my community and feel good about myself.
3. A great way to meet people and make friends in the neighborhood.
4. A chance to make a difference.

In order to participate, I must be an LPOA member who is...

1. ... part of the "old guard" who has lived in Lakewood forever.
2. ... anyone who is interested (perhaps even passionate!) about a particular issue (security, I-10 project, social, etc.) and willing to spend a few hours per month working with others.

If you answered 1 to the first question, you probably haven't had a chance to learn how satisfying it is to volunteer a few hours to public service.  A wonderful opportunity is waiting for you with LPOA.

If you answered 1 to the second question, you are mistaken!  Anyone with an interest in volunteering, and the motivation to work on a topic of interest to them, is welcomed with open arms!
